About Our Speaker and ModeratorDr. Louise Short, MD MSC Dr. Short is the National Clinical Leader for Strategic Benefit Advisors (SBA). Her passion and her focus is working with employers to develop strategies and solutions that engage and support employees and their families in making good choices to avoid the cost and consequences of poor health. She is a seasoned, results-driven physician with a background in internal medicine, occupational and preventive medicine, and 25 years of experience providing clinical leadership in designing, implementing and measuring population health programs and strategies. She runs the Innovation Hub at SBA which is focused on the application of digital health and other innovative solutions to improving health outcomes and healthcare costs and is a member of the NBGH Health Innovations Forum. Dr. Short’s expertise also includes analytics, epidemiology, managed care plan administration and medical management, and clinical programs and outcomes client consultation. She has worked as a medical leader at a wellness/care management vendor, spent over thirteen years working as a medical director for both UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, including directing research and business development for Anthem’s health outcomes research subsidiary. Previously, Dr. Short was an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and in clinical practice. Dr. Short earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard, her MD from Tufts University School of Medicine, did her internal medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and trained in occupational and preventive medicine at Mt.
